... Women spill beans on love, family and diets
19 November 2008

Modern women worry most about their health and weight, according to new research.

A poll conducted for Stella magazine questioned women on their views about sex, families, health and work.

It found that women are continuously striving to achieve a balance between their work and their family
.

The survey, which was carried out by YouGov, found that 23 per cent of women are currently on a diet, while 58 per cent had been on one in the past.

For 80 per cent of women, health was their major worry, followed by putting on weight and then losing their jobs.

Around 46 per cent of the respondents said they thought it was a good idea for a couple to live together before getting married, while 51 per cent said it was better to marry before starting a family.

In a surprising revelation of traditional views, 38 per cent of women think a mother should stay at home until her child goes to school.

And it seems that women want the best for themselves in the dating game. Two thirds of respondents said they would rather live with a perfect partner than settle for someone who is merely "good enough".
