Women hoping that their man is going to pop the question soon will be getting their hopes up following the discovery of what is thought to be the world's biggest diamond.
The stone, which is said to be 7,000 carats, was discovered by a mining company in South Africa
.
It is twice the size of what was previously the biggest diamond, discovered 102 years ago.
The newly unearthed stone is said to be the size of a coconut, while others have described it as "the size of two fists," reports the Independent.
The only photograph to have been released, taken by mobile phone, shows the stone to have a green tint, said to be especially uncommon.
Les Milner, a gem scientist from the Jewellery Council Laboratories, said: "If it is what it is, it's very, very rare."
The diamond is currently residing in a bank vault in Johannesburg, before it is verified by experts.
