Men around the world will be mourning the end of Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson's singledom.
The 23-year-old beauty is getting married to her boyfriend fellow actor Ryan Reynolds
.
Johansson's films include the Black Dahlia and The Other Boleyn Girl, while Reynolds has starred in movies including Just Friends and Definitely Maybe.
The 31-year-old actor was previously engaged to Alanis Morrissette between 2004 and 2006.
Johansson's publicist Marcel Pariseau confirmed the star's engagement to Reynolds after she was seen showing off a sparkly ring at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala.
The media had suspected the pair might be about to tie the knot after dating for more than a year.
Earlier this year, Scarlett deflected questions about their relationship from the Associatd Press by declaring her love for US presidential candidate Barack Obama.
She said: "My heart belongs to Barack and that is who I am currently, finally, engaged to. Yes."
Johansson and Reynolds have not yet set a date for their nuptials, according to their publicist.
