The wedding dress of Queen Elizabeth II is to go on display for the first time to mark the 60th wedding anniversary of the royal couple.


The dress, which was designed by Norman Hartnell, is ivory silk and decorated with crystals and 10,000 seeded pearls. It also has a 13-foot train.

Outfits worn by the groom and mother of the bride will also be showcased.

The couple became engaged on July 10th 1947 and were married on November 20th of the same year. The Queen was 21 when she got married.

Other features will include footage of the celebrations, including events from behind the scenes on the couple's big day.

The exhibition will also include wedding gifts from US President Harry Truman, Mahatma Gandhi and Pope Pius XII, reports This is London.

The exhibition will form part of Buckingham Palace's Summer Opening, which will take place from July 28th to September 25th.ADNFCR-1043-ID-18150926-ADNFCR
