A poster on a Chicago billboard has been removed for causing offence.
The advertisement, created by some divorce lawyers in the city read: "Life's Short. Get a Divorce". It also featured two photos of a scantily clad man and woman.
Other lawyers from different firms have criticised the poster for giving the profession a bad name.
Some living locally to the billboard felt that it could push those in shaky marriages into getting a divorce, reports MyFoxChicago.
The lawyers who came up with the advert are reportedly disappointed that it was removed, but have been receiving a drastic increase in phone calls from people seeking divorces.
Corri Fetman, one of the lawyers, said: "They ripped down our billboard. We own that art. I feel violated."
Quick to bring her legal expertise into play, her colleague Kelly Garland said: "This isn't about us ? it's about everybody's First Amendment rights to say what they believe in."
It has been claimed that it may not have been the offence caused by the poster that led to its removal, but the fact that the billboard was not legally permitted to be there.
