Oil now pronounce you man and wife
19 June 2007
Having difficulty choosing your bridesmaids, best man and ushers?
|
One couple side stepped this problem by bringing in a friend they knew wouldn't get teary-eyed on their big day.
They invited a robot to act as Master of Ceremonies at their wedding in South Korea last week.
Named Tiro, the robot played the crucial role for one of the engineers who designed him, Gyeong-jae and his bride Daejeon.
Speaking in a male voice, Tiro introduced the happy couple to their guests and handled proceedings throughout the day, according to AFP.
He stands the height of an adult, is bright yellow and has lit-up green hands.
Other robots also lent a hand at the proceedings, guiding guests to their seats and performing for the crowd.
Hanool Robotics, who manufactured Tiro, say he can be adjusted to cater for a variety of other events.
The makers claim this was the first wedding to be overseen by a robot.
He is said to be worth more than £100,000.
