More women want a toy boy ... More women want a toy boy
17 April 2007

More women are on the look out for a toy boy, a new survey has revealed.

Over the last 12 months, the number of women looking to meet a considerably younger man has increased by 20 per cent.

There now 280,000 women in Britain who like the idea of a younger lover and three per cent want a boyfriend ten years their junior.

And the demand is being met by five per cent of men aged 25 to 35 who are looking to meet an older woman.

Most liaisons with younger men begin on the internet.

The survey found that women from the Home Counties, Dorset and Wiltshire are twice as likely to be interest in a younger man.

Dr Victoria Lukats, relationship expert for Parship - who carried out the survey - said: "Younger women have always been attracted to men who are slightly older than they are. This can be traced back to prehistoric man when the woman would choose a partner able to provide the best chances of survival.

"Older women however, don't need to concern themselves with such life changing decisions. Their only concern is their pleasure ? and not whether their new boyfriend can pay the gas bill."

Explaining why younger men are attracted to older women Dr Lukats said: "It's not really surprising that younger men are attracted to more domestically focused women.

"A lovingly prepared home-cooked meal is as much of an aphrodisiac as dining in a fancy restaurant."copyright
