Young people would rather give up sex than their mobile phone, a survey has revealed.
When asked if they had to give up either sex or their mobile for a month, the majority opted to hang on to their phone and one in three people would only give up their phone for £1million.
Women were found to be more prepared to give up loving in favour of keeping touch with those important to them on their mobile.
Some 81 per cent of women admitted to being totally dependent on their phones, compared to 71 per cent of men.
It seems that the mobile phone has become the great love of this generation. But how do we cope without them?
When Mobile Life asked young people to go with out their phones, many claimed to like the way it forced people to make plans and get organised.
One participant said: "It stops people ringing when they have arranged to meet to say they are going to be late - they feel much more duty bound…to actually bother their backside to get there on time."
So perhaps texting has had a negative effect on couples actually going out for dates, instead just dropping each other the occasional text.
