Men will go further, quite literally, to have an affair in comparison to women, new research has revealed.
Men are prepared to travel an average of 131.7 miles while women go a distance of just 16.5 miles
.
And men are willing to further if necessary, with 20 per cent of those polled saying they would go "as far as it takes" to visit their mistress.
Five men and four women involved in the survey travelled in excess of 5,000 miles for a date.
The difference between men and women's willingness to travel has been put down to the different demands on them at work and in the home.
A spokesperson from Illicit Encounters, who conducted the research, said; "Women have different levels of commitment at home compared to men.
"[Women have more responsibilities at home.] On the other hand, men find it very easy to explain being away overnight and travel much greater distances as a matter of course."
