A banner which read "I'm sorry I ever hurt you Rosie. I love you. X." was put up over a busy city road in Cardiff, Wales this week.
It was the idea of Dave Howells, who wanted to win back his ex-girlfriend, Miss Wales contestant Rosie Meek.
The pair had broken up after an argument.
Miss Meek told the South Wales Echo: "As I was driving I looked up and saw it. I'm quite embarrassed but more shocked. I couldn't believe he'd done it. It's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me."
After the banner became such a talking point in the city, the company who printed it for Mr Howells has now decided to send the couple for a romantic meal in an effort to reunite them.
Nathan Harris from the company told the local paper: "We want to help them rekindle what they had and we're doing it in the name of love.
"We want to send them to their favourite restaurant, have some nice food and some wine and let us pick up the bill."
The company said the banner cost in the region of £150.
