Link between hair colour and relationships examine

Women are likely to change their hair colour when they have split up from their boyfriend or partner so that they "feel different and the world responds to them in a different way too".
That is according to psychologist Anjula Mutanda who used the example of Natalie Imbruglia who changed her hair colour from brown to blonde when she split from her husband.
Another example given was Chantelle from Big Brother who spent her marriage to Preston as a brunette and switched back to being blonde once the pair had split.
Ms Mutanda explained: "When there is a life changing event, you can change your physical identity because when you look at someone, you see hair first as it has such impact, people tend to make that drastic change."
According to research carried out for Andrew Collinge by Tickbox.net in November 2008, 52 per cent of men felt that brunettes made the best wives.
This is in comparison to 49 per cent who thought blondes made the best girlfriends and just 21 per cent who felt brunettes were ideal girlfriend material.
