An accordion, saxophone and the odd spot of gurning have sustained a couple through 60 years of happy marriage.
James and Kath Taylor from Distington have just celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary
.
The octogenarians have more fun than most people half their age.
Mrs Taylor is a former world-gurning champion who dances at pubs and clubs in her spare time, while her husband keeps fit with a gruelling daily routine of press-ups, cycling or skipping.
Mr Taylor told the Whitehaven News: "Fun and hobbies are a big help. She is a real practical joker and has always been a big sport.
"I think a lot of her. Marriage was the best thing I have ever done I could not have met a better woman."
Vividly demonstrating her playful streak, Mrs Taylor said "the reason for our success is because I am the boss".
Despite being poorly, Mrs Taylor was able to celebrate the anniversary with a glass of champagne and a family meal.
