Mischa Barton, the Californian socialite and fashion leader, has said that when it comes to relationships older is definitely better.
The news will set older men's hearts fluttering across the UK with the OC actress consistently being voted as one of the world's sexiest women.
But her newfound approach to men has not always been the case as she has dated a string of younger eligible boyfriends.
She told Elle magazine that was all in the past now and it was more likely she would follow the pattern of celebrities such as Catherine Zeta Jones and Calista Flockhart, who have both opted for the older man.
She said: "I'd like someone who makes me laugh. I like an intellectual guy, because I love to read. If they like movies, books and music, we're pretty alright. And I'd like someone who's mature; God, I can't take another immature person!"
Barton added that while she liked some aspects of living in LA, the social scene was not her bag – encouraging news for the older man in the UK.
