... Couple united by newspaper to wed Couple united by newspaper to wed

30 May 2007

Proof that personals do work: a couple who met through the Under Offer dating service in the London freesheet, Metro, have announced they are to wed.

Ryan Hunt originally chose Kelly-Jane Palmer from a list of 60 potential candidates back in 2005.

The pair dated for a while but then parted as they both had travel plans.

Five months later once they had each returned to London they got dating again ? and haven't looked back since.

Ryan, who originally chose Kelly because she looked like Martine McCutcheon, told Metro of the original ad: "It was pretty exciting and nerve-wracking having all these women wanting to go out with me but Kelly was the one girl who said something funny in her email."

When it came to his proposal two years later, things went a little less smoothly for Ryan.

He managed to drop the engagement ring (and the pouch it was concealed in) into a bowl of popcorn Kelly happened to be eating ? and when she got a hold of it she flung the bowl across the room thinking the pouch was a mouse.

After Ryan managed to calm her down, she pulled out the ring and said yes.

The couple plan to marry in Australia at Christmas.ADNFCR-1016-ID-18164521-ADNFCR
