Brunettes luckier in love, research reveals

Contrary to popular belief, women looking for love are more likely to be successful if they are brunette.
That is according to a survey by Garnier, which questioned 6,000 people to conclude that 71 per cent of men would pick brunettes as ideal partners, ahead of their fairer haired counterparts.
Brunettes are not just lucky in love either, as according to the survey, women with dark hair were twice as likely to earn between £45,000 and £55,000 as their blonde or red-headed colleagues.
Explaining the possible reasons behind the positive reaction to women with dark hair, psychologist Anjula Mutanda, said: "Some hair colours tend to darken naturally with age and so brown hair can be associated with confidence and self-awareness."
She explained that these qualities "instill a sense of trust and assurance", which could go some way to understanding why men choose brunettes as partners in love.
