Most new couples appreciate some privacy as their relationship blossoms, but participants in a German experiment will submit their fledgling romance to critical scrutiny in the service of freedom, beauty, truth and, of course, love.
A Berlin competition designed to destabilise conventional attitudes to dating is set to end tomorrow.
Artists' organisation Wooloo is offering a matchmaking service with a difference.
The Avant-Garde dating project will match all applicants with an artist from another part of the world, and three "outstanding" couples will be selected for an experiment which is also a performance.
They will spend a week living together in an exhibition area from late September to early October.
Entrants were asked how their new relationship would "explore the conventions of monogamous love, challenge the idea of artistic collaboration and/or explore one of the other numerous stereotypes of human pairing".
Anyone who is an online member of Wooloo, which is free, can apply.
