... Bachelors and their cash Bachelors and their cash

29 May 2007

A survey has revealed just how important money is to women when choosing a partner.

According to the survey, by Channel Five's new quiz show Payday, men should be earning £35,000 to be in with a chance of securing a girlfriend.

The figure is a massive £10,000 above the average British salary, but two-thirds of women say the sum is a prerequisite for considering a man as potential boyfriend material.

A tiny one in eight women say money doesn't matter when it comes to love, reports the Metro.

And women are well tuned in to the tell-tale signs of a man's wealth. The environmentally friendly Toyota Prius is the car most likely to suggest money, while a Skoda is likely to do the opposite.

Home Counties accents are also seen as a good indicator of wealth, the survey revealed.

Men with Liverpudlian accents, however, were thought by women to be the least likely to be wealthy.ADNFCR-1043-ID-18162923-ADNFCR
