1 in 4 women sacrifice financial control

A whopping one in four women give up their financial independence when they get into a serious relationship.
A survey by the Heat Group found that women are often very trusting that their relationship will be the "fairytale" they imagine, despite high divorce rates, reports the Herald Sun
.
And many justify giving up this financial control as not being able to afford investments such as property on their own.
Women are advised not to let falling head over heels let them risk losing their financial stability were their relationship to break down.
Gillian Franklin, managing director of the Heat Group, claims that the "veils of romance cloud pragmatic thinking".
She said:" It is true that few couples buy a property with the intention of a relationship breakdown. However, the cold hard reality is so many relationships do.
"Legally binding documentation, while somewhat clinical and boring, can save a huge amount of financial heart-ache in the long run."
